The waste contains 11 radioactive substances, including U-238, Thorium, Radium and Lead in addition to unidentified toxic substances used in the process of hydraulic fracturing. The substances would flow into Chiganois River and ultimately Minas Basin with unknown impacts on human health and the ecosystem.
