Over the years,  many individuals have voiced their concern of the image projected by "Uncle Ned", a slave sitting at the feet of Stephen Foster. We the people of Pittsburgh, the region, the state of Pennsylvania, and the nation feel in this day and age that this statue is inappropriate and should be removed from public display.
