JUSTICE FOR ROMY VILSAINT

The Issue

Romy Vilsaint was a healthy Haitian Immigrant 5th grader at P.S. 361 due to graduate this June. He was bullied by his classmates. The school failed to properly address this matter. On Wednesday May 5th, he was jumped and beat up after school. On Thursday May 6th, while in school, he was punched behind the head by a student who admits he was given a $1 dare by another student to hit Romy. Romy complained of severe headaches along with vomiting, and was sent to the nurse who sent him home instead of to the hospital. Romy passed away at Kings County Hospital at 3pm on Friday, May 7th.

This story is more than upsetting. What'e even more inexplicable is why there has been minimal media coverage and why school nor medical officials have made an official statement nor communicated adequately with the family. Justice must be served. Tiffany Frazier has been the principal at P.S. 361 in Brooklyn, NY since 2013. She must be held accountable for this death that could have been avoided. The students involved must also be held accountable. Expulsion is the bare minimum.

Help us bring more attention to this tragedy by signing this petition and putting pressure on our political decision makers. Call the school, (718) 941-2800, and ask to speak to the principal Tiffany Frazier and demand her to give you an update as to how the school is dealing with this tragedy. #justiceforromy
