Palm Coast, FL: On February 12th, Sahmi Green told a female friend he would take her dog for a walk. But instead of taking the pit bull out for a fun stroll, Green allegedly took her behind a house and stabbed her seven times in the neck and stomach. The poor dog did not stand a chance and died from her wounds. The dog’s owner called the police. A trail of blood lead them to a bloody kitchen knife.
Green initially claimed the dog had been in a fight. He later changed his story to say he stabbed her in self-defense after she charged and chased him.
The next evening, Green was arrested after police responded to a disturbance call. For this incident, he was charged with trespassing, battery, resisting arrest without violence, grand theft over $300, the use of an anti-shoplifting device, and resisting a merchant, as well as the animal cruelty charge.
Green’s arrest warrant states that he “intentionally walked the victim’s dog behind the house and excessively stabbed it approximately seven times and repeated infliction of unnecessary pain and suffering causing its death.”
Intentional animal cruelty in Florida is a third degree felony, with a fine up to $10,000 and/or imprisonment up to five years.
Please take a stand against animal abuse and help bring justice for the gray female pit bull that was so brutally killed. This petition respectfully requests that if found guilty, Sahmi Green receive the maximum sentence for animal cruelty and other charges.
