Implement Ethnic Studies in the Redlands School District

Implement Ethnic Studies in the Redlands School District
The Issue
We as students want the Redlands Unified School District to implement ethnic studies, such as Asian studies and African-American studies in our classrooms, and enable students to learn about other cultures. Our community has the right to learn more about various ethnicities and cultures and the Redlands School District needs to make these classes accessible to all students. The Redlands School District needs to hold themselves accountable for the absence of diversity in the subject matter of our history courses. We as students need to learn more about the issues that impacted on Africa, Asia, and Central and South America instead of just Europe and the United States. By permitting students to learn more ethnic studies, as a district, we can begin the journey to having equality between all students regardless of ethnicity or race.
