This Petition draws the attention of the Upper St Clair Township Manager. We therefore request the following:

Ordinance number 41.18.2 which states, “No STRUCTURE in which FARM ANIMALS are kept may be closer than two hundred (200) feet to any adjoining LOT LINE,” be changed to declare hens as having separate restrictions than other farm animals and a new ordinance be proposed regarding the keeping of hens. The ordinance should reduce the setback requirement to allow hens in standard yards and remove the lot size restriction of 5 acres. New criteria will include:

-No roosters are permitted to be kept on Upper St Clair properties
-Hens kept as backyard animals may not be permitted to run at large
 

WE, the undersigned, affix our signatures in support of the petition to change Ordinance number 41.18.2 to allow more residents to keep hens.
