OhioLink Lima..make the program work to help ex offenders
The Issue
The ODRC runs a program called transitional control for prisoners that are transitioning back into society. The goal of the program is to reconnect them with the community and their family.
Ohio link Lima is a contractor for the ODRC. Therefore they are in charge of helping prisoners with their substance abuse issues, cognitive behavior issues, and reconnecting with their family.
However, Ohio link Lima is doing none of this. They have a woman there, Ms. Evans, that was fired from ACI for bringing in contraband. There is no visitation. very rarely do they run classes. Out of the West 10 business days they've had one class. These are the classes people need to go home on electronic monitoring.
Residents are Currently not permitted to go to church, on home passes, NA/AA. For a program that is supposed to be helping people reconnect with the community and their family they are not doing much if anything at all.
They blame it on coronavirus, but we have unvaccinated workers that work there mixed with us. We're allowed to go to work so they can get 25% of our gross of our paycheck, but other than that you can't even get a visit there from your family. You can't get your stuff dropped off anymore. They say they don't have the staff.
This is hypocrisy at its finest. How are you going to allow on vaccinated workers to be around us that go in and come out every day, but you won't let us go to an NA meeting even if we're vaccinating? We can't go to an NA or AA meeting, we can't even run one in house. They don't even run alcohol and other drugs group anymore.
It seems to me like Ohio link line is just interested in the money and not really interested in helping people. Please sign this petition to get the odrc to do something about this. They're supposed to be helping us not hurting us. All they're interested in is that 25% of our gross paycheck.
If you care about the people that are coming back to your community getting better, and being in a better position where they won't reoffend please sign this petition. Thank you
