Battery Hens are still kept in very small cages, especially in countries supplying eggs to UK shops where we buy our food. Animals should be kept outdoors and have space because they have feelings too. Imagine if you were cramped up in a really small cage. Battery Hens don't live very long in their small cages. Imagine if you didn't live very long because of how you were looked after. If it was illegal to buy eggs from another country where Battery Hens are kept in terrible conditions, at least the UK would not be supporting animal cruelty to chickens. -Elliot (Age 7).
