Mattel Toys : SAVE Halo Mega
The Issue
In 2009, Mega Bloks launched Halo Wars: The authentic collectors series. Over the years, they have released some of the most iconic building sets ever created and captivated the imaginations of a generation of builders. By 2015, around the launch of Halo 5 Guardians, the line had sold more than 35 million units.
Halo Mega Bloks became known for its large-scale battles, ambitious builds, stop motion animations, toy photography, 3D printing, custom painting and most of all, their iconic minifigures, which were fully customisable and compatible with every set ever released.
For most of us, Halo Mega Bloks was not just a toy line. It was a community, a sense of belonging and a creative outlet. For many, it has been a part of their lives for more than a decade.
Now, after years of uncertainty, the future of our hobby hangs in the balance. The last wave of Halo Mega collectibles released in 2024 and since then, radio silence.
In early 2025, Mattel revealed its own construction brand, Mattel Brick Shop. In July 2026, the brand debuted its buildable Halo UNSC M12 Warthog, followed in August with a Microsoft Xbox kit.
These releases clearly demonstrate that Halo still has a place in Mattel’s portfolio. They came as a blow to our enthusiasm, however, as the iconic minifigures that built this fandom were absent from the builds. Furthermore, they seem to be one-off collaborations and not a successful relaunch of Halo Mega Bloks.
And throughout all of this, our community has received no meaningful communication about the future of the brand. It has left us in a constant sense of uncertainty, not knowing if our hobby will continue.
Requests to Mattel:
1) Acknowledgement of our community.
We ask Mattel to publicly acknowledge one of its longest-standing communities and recognise the passion and support that we still give to this product line.
2) Clarification of the future.
We ask Mattel to provide clear and meaningful communication about the future of its Halo collaborations and the Mega Halo brand.
3) The return of the minifig.
The merchandising opportunities remain vast, and there is still significant potential for new characters, designs and products.
4) Revive the brand. Reignite your fanbase.
Do not look solely to the past. Launch something fresh and innovative that is compatible with what came before and reflects the interests of your community.
If this product line has ever meant something to you, make your voice heard.
This petition is more than a request for new sets. It is a statement that this community still exists.
All we are asking for is the chance to build again.
