Thomas and Friends is one of the most popular children's British Television show to date. It was based of a series of books called "The Railway Series," the first of which was published in 1945. although Thomas is the number one blue engine, he was not actually the first character introduced in the series. Believe it or not, it was actually Edward! he was followed by Gordon, and then Henry. when The Railway Series was adapted into the Thomas and Friends TV series in 1984, Edward remained one of the main characters, and has stayed with the series since the very beginning.

     Henry the Green Engine has also been an important staple. While he has theoretically gone through the most changes of the main steam team, he still remains a relatable and lovable character. 

    However, Mattel is getting ready to "reboot" the franchise, which will include several changes to the series, including Thomas interacting with the audience, and other things to make it more like "traditional" children's television. However, there has been a giant rumor circulating Edward and Henry will wiped from the show entirely. and at this moment, this seems incredibly likely (at least for Edward.) as the season 21 episode "A shed for Edward" had Edward go off to live with Phillip.

    we cannot allow Mattel to remove characters who have been part of this franchise since the very beginning. So I urge you, sign this petition, help keep the legacy alive with the characters who began it all.
