On August 4, 2020 NBC Sports Bay Area's Kelli Johnson announced that her NBC Sports contract would not be extended after her contract expires later this year.

Kelli has worked with NBC Sports Bay Area since 2014 and has done a number of things for the regional network, most recently hosting the Giants Pre and Postgame shows. She has fans from all over her working markets, Washington, D.C., Houston, and now the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California. Over those years, she has gained popularity amongst many.

Ms. Johnson is a great person. She not only stands for what is right, she is not afraid to speak up about very important issues. Also, all of her fans love her work when she is doing the Giants Pre and Postgame shows. She was also excellent in the now-cancelled "Happy Hour" program. All of us are concerned that the quality of the Pre and Postgame shows will plummet without her. She simply makes things BETTER. 

Kelli is not just the most prominent female presence of NBC Sports Bay Area newsroom, she is THE prominent presence of anyone in that newsroom. You would be making a pretty big mistake by letting a person like her go. While many have come and gone in this role in the past, Kelli deserves to continue her NBC Sports Bay Area duties well beyond 2020. We consider her family and believe she deserves to stay. Make the ethical decision and sign her to a multi-year extension. Keep Kelli around!
