Unfair Addressing Of Student Issues by Prof. Bourgoub

Unfair Addressing Of Student Issues by Prof. Bourgoub
The Issue
This petition addresses the mistreatment and ignorance of student pleas and grievances by Professor Hassan Bourgoub, of the Mathematics Department at De Anza College.
Prof. Bourgoub has constantly been shooting down all student grievances and refusing to look into serious issues with regards to grading errors, testing failures and doubt solving. Some of the compiled grievances that students have voiced to him are as follows:
1] The first mid-term taken on canvas had multiple issues. Answers that were correct were marked incorrect due to a syntax error in the software that compares solutions to the key. Students lost 5-15 points on a 50 point test due to this and only a few were given a slight raise of points after Professor Bourgoub re-evaluated the tests.
2] Professor Bourgoub ignores student messages and emails on purpose. When students emails him about grade correction, he disregards the all queries by reasoning that he gets too much of the same "grade change" emails and that students shouldn't complain about losing points because it is "not worth it" and a waste of his time. The same applies for mathematical doubts too. He has never replied to a single email in his class.
3] The gradings system in his class is unfair and rigged against the best interests of the students. He strongly believes that no student can scored higher than 70% on his tests. This however, is not because of the difficulty of the tests, but because of his hesitance to validate students test taking ability for online classes. He firmly believes that everyone in the class performs academic dishonesty while taking an online test and therefore he should purposely take off points randomly from students, in order to bring the class average down to 60%, which according to him is what students "should" score, because anything more than that can only be achieved via cheating.
4] Students have been receiving wrong grades on Canvas for their Webassign assignments. People who have scored a 100% (10/10, 20/20) on the Webassign homeworks have been graded incorrectly for the same assignments on Canvas, with some people getting a concerning 0% for some assignments.
The classes that Professor Bourgoub teaches at De Anza (Math 1C and more) are extremely imperative for transfer students to score well in, since they are crucial major requirements, however makes it impossible to do well in the class.
This is a request to the Dean of De Anza College as well as the Chair of the Math Department to look into the matter and take urgent action to protect Student rights and interests.
