Many Georgia Massage Therapist's plans to attend in person courses have been postponed or cancelled as a result of the current COVID-19 pandemic. With the degree of uncertainty of exactly when social distancing requirements will be lifted, and or hopefully being among the fortunate few to find an accessible course prior to the determined maximum attendee guidelines are reached, among many additional public health related factors to be considered.  Changing the 12 hour hands on requirement is the only viable option. Making this rule change will allow Massage Therapists who have been financially or otherwise impacted by COVID-19 to focus on rebuilding our practices without the looming fear of losing our license.  We implore Georgia Governor Brian Kemp to make the rule change to allow all 24 CEUs to be satisfied online or extend the hands on requirement for a period of 12 months from October 31, 2020 to October 31, 2021 for this current renewal cycle as an Act of Goodwill.
