Support us in starting a No-Kill Animal shelter in Mason County Michigan.

The Issue

Establishing a no-kill shelter facility to house and care for animals until we find them a forever home. While housing these animals our intent is to provide the best care for the animals, including quality health care (both preventative care and treatment for current issues), as well as behavioral modification and training as needed, and also enrichment and socialization in the best interest of the animal.Currently, Mason County only has animal control, which euthanizes animals when they are full. We would like to provide an opportunity to those who are not adopted within the current hold time, to have a second chance at being adopted, with no time limit on that animal’s life. A no-kill shelter would enhance our communities’ public image by showing how kind and compassionate our community can be, drawing in people to live and visit Mason County. Having a no kill shelter would also promote businesses associated with pets, such as veterinarians, groomers, and pet supply stores. We are requesting the opportunity and approval to set our plan into action and start a no-kill animal shelter in Mason County.
