James Sionko is a technology teacher at Maryvale Middle School in Cheektowaga NY. He became a teacher at Maryvale in 1989. The job of a teacher is to educate and act as a role model to students. His actions and behaviors towards students are unacceptable. We are talking about children ages 10-14 in grades 6th-8th. If any of these actions shock you this is the reality students at Maryvale faced having him as a teacher. 1. He would drop things off his desk and have students (especially females with cleavage) bend over and pick it up in front of him. He stared the whole time. He would often reward the student with candy. 2. He would have an erection in class and continue to have conversations with students.  3. He asked girls if they lost their virginity yet. 4. He asked students walking home if they wanted rides. This is only a short list of the disgusting  acts he did towards children. Dear Maryvale how many voices do you need to repeat the same stories over and over again? We aren’t helpless children anymore will you now hear us out? This has been going on over 15 years. Do you know how many people have had to experience this behavior? What needs to be done to make you uncomfortable enough as a parent to say I don’t want him teaching my child. If you ever had to experience this or witnessed it as a student at Maryvale please sign. If you are anyone who believes this behavior is unacceptable for a middle school teacher I urge you to share. Dear Maryvale it’s beyond time to address the issue of James Sionko.
