The Artistic students of MMC are severely impacted by our courses transforming completely digital. While we understand the necessity of this action as it impacts our students health and the health of New York City itself— we are lacking in the very need essential to our education and that is the in-person direction needed toward achieving our artistic training.
the acting students are no longer provided with physical warm-ups, vocal warm ups, as well as scene study education that requires physicality and action towards progress.
Visual arts students have been denied studio opportunity, in person- direction, instruction/demonstration, showcasing work in critiques and exhibition; as well artistic access to resources unattainable to some like the dark room to develop film.
The dance students are missing daily dance which is vital to keeping up with their health, technique and training.
I could go on about how much we are missing but these are vital to our education and if not able to provide them we ask to be refunded for the remaining weeks of in-class time that will be lost.
