Weather is unpredictable. When we got that snow storm in January we were swamped. It was a legitimate safety concern and that's why we deserved to have the week off. Now, the state is unfairly not recognizing the waiver request we sent in while acknowledging other counties and their requests. We worked hard this year and we deserve 100% of our summer vacation. The snow days are not based off of nothing- they're based off of safety. If we didn't have them we would be putting people in danger. Don't punish us because of unpredictable weather. It's Montgomery County law that the sidewalks must be cleared before we get back to school. They were not. That is not the students fault in any way shape or form. I want Maryland to acknowledge our waiver request. I want our vacation to go as planned and our education to resume. We are in Spring already and summer is close. People already made plans. Don't take this away from them. Reinstate the waiver and give us back our vacation.
