Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will recognize Emma Fuhrmann as the young actress who played Cassie Lang in the film “Avengers: Endgame”. On December 10th, 2020, a new Ant-Man film was revealed to be in the works by Marvel Studios during Disney’s Investor Day, with Emma Fuhrmann’s character Cassie Lang recasted as Kathryn Newton. Fans were disappointed to hear that she was recasted, and a rumor spread that the actress decided not to continue in the role to “focus more on school”. This was proven to be false in the public statement the actress released on December 14th, 2020.

I was as sad as you all were to hear the news Thursday. I can only hope that this means there is something else for me in the future of the MCU. This statement also reveals that Fuhrmann received no word of her role being given to another actress before it was revealed publicly. This is unfair to Fuhrmann, as she had planned to continue on in the role after “Avengers: Endgame”. Thus, I am asking for Emma Fuhrmann to be cast as Cassie Lang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

I harbor no hate toward Kathryn Newton or any other people involved in the recasting. Emma deserves to have the role she never turned down in the first place.
