So we're finally going to see the Kamala Khan in live-action as portrayed by Iman Vellani with her Disney+ show Ms. Marvel and her co-starring role in the movie The Marvels. However, as leakers found with behind the scenes evidence, plus promotional artwork of Kamala's hand inside a purple light construct and the end of the teaser trailer showing Kamala running on glowing platforms, Kamala isn't going to be the stretchy Inhuman we know and love. Instead, she is just going to be some average Muslim teenager with a ring that creates light constructs. I'm sorry, but is this Ms. Marvel Kamala Khan or Green Lantern Simon Baz? Wasn't the Captain Marvel script changed to avoid similarities to Green Lantern?

We want the stretchy Inhuman Kamala, not some Green Lantern knockoff. If you want to show pink energy constructs, use a different character! 

The change shouldn't be that hard even with you finished filming. First edit the script to change her bracelet significance, add a terrigenesis scene and change her powers to elongation. Then ask your VFX editors to change the effects from purple light to malleable flesh. It's a simple photoshop trick to enlarge Iman's hand. And for scenes where the change is impossible to make, reshoot them. 

People are justifying your change as saying it would look like Reed Richards is copying her. But everyone knows Reed Richards came decades before Kamala. And why should it matter if you got two stretchy people? The MCU had fights between Hulk and Abomination, Iron Man and Iron Monger, Ant-Man and Yellowjacket. Don't forget there was War Machine and Rescue wearing similar armor to Iron Man, and Wasp using Ant-Man's shrinking technology. In fact, it looks like you are changing Kamala's powers to fit the light theme of Carol and Monica's powers. But Kamala glows a little when she shapeshifts. You can change her glow to purple to make the reshoots simpler. And isn't it better to have diverse powers in a team? 

And sure, the fans hated the Inhumans series, but Agents of SHIELD has Inhumans too. It would be appreciated if Ms. Marvel was an Inhuman without involving the controversial Royal Family. We've got Daisy Johnson as a successful Inhuman.

Changes to the character from the comics have been controversial. Just look at Taskmaster. He was a mercenary who has the natural talent of copying people's moves and then you changed him to a silent cyborg woman who reads moves from her helmet! Fans of Anthony Masters were not pleased. But at least since that was not Anthony Masters but Antonia Dreykov, there is still hope for the real Taskmaster to show up. Since the upcoming hero is Kamala Khan, you are screwing over every fan of the character changing her to a Purple Lantern. Kamala has already appeared in cartoons and video games, so plenty of people know who she should be.

It would benefit Kamala's fans if you respect the source material. So please, even if you have to delay the show more, have reshoots to make use of Kamala's elastic Inhuman abilities! I'm not watching if she's just going to be a Green Lantern ripoff. When the show was announced, I was excited for the stretchy girl. So please give us the stretchy girl!
