Back in the 90’s and 2000’s Mansfield smooth bitter was a very popular drink in the midlands like no other, everyone I knew drank it.But after Marstons bought the brewery there has been a steady decline in availability in actually buying the stuff. Out of all the beers that were once brewed in Mansfield the only one that was left could be bought was back In 2015.It was possible to buy a can of Mansfield Original bitter sit in front of the tv and drink it like any other beer. This isn’t the case anymore as Marstons who brew the beer pulled it from supermarket/shop shelves unexpectedly, the reasons are unknown. The goal of this petition is to get Marstons to sell Mansfield smooth Bitter across the midlands in cans and to prove this isn’t a niche beer. So for those sick of having to drive round to different pubs to look for the beer and having to take a chance on Marstons own midlands pubs on actually stocking it as a guest ale.
