This one.. having to do with the very first time she appeared on the United Cerebral Palsy Telethon.
Typical Marsha.. after Leonard Goldenson spoke to the Broadway stars about this new disease "Cerebral Palsy..Marsha , on her day off from Broadway, found a school in NYC where there were kids who had UCP.. she watched and educated herself about the disease- so that when she saw these folks on TV screwing up- she knew more than them- and educated the public about this very scary condition...
Marsha went on to do 8 UCP telethons..I think I mentioned that the one she did in Oakland in 1952 with Jack Webb and Ralph Edwards..they were on the air for 36 hours with no sleep! It was a broadcast record at the time...
But that's the essence of Marsha..she's all about educating herself about causes so that she is better informed to relay information.
Again thanks for sharing this petition and for "feeding the meter". We're heading towards 2500 signature and I pray, local press..
