Cancel The 2020 Pinky Promise Conference By Heather Lindsey

Cancel The 2020 Pinky Promise Conference By Heather Lindsey
The Issue
Heather Lindsey & Cornelius Lindsey the host and founders of the non-profits Pinky Promise and The Man Cave Society are still planning to host their 2020 conferences in less than 90 days despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution there are still over 34,000 cases of the Cornavirus and over 1500 deaths in the city of Atlanta alone not including surrounding areas.
The Lindsey's are refusing to refund conference tickets paid for in advance by attendees despite the serious risk Covid-19 poses to large gatherings especially since people worldwide usually attend. Their conferences annually host thousands of attendees. The ticket prices range from $110-1200 and The Lindsey's are deleting and blocking anyone on social media who inquiry about refunds due to the pandemic. They are also refusing to answer emails or calls about ticket refunds and said they will not be cancelling the conference or issuing refunds no matter what.
We feel this is extremely negligent for health reasons and conference attendees shouldn't be forced to accept a credit for next year's conference either seeing as it is currently unknown when it will be completely safe for people to travel. Refunds should be readily made available.
In addition to the Lindsey's refusing refunds that are rightfully owed to the people who request them, they have recently come under serious scrutiny for racist remarks made against African Americans openly on their podcast and YouTube channel.
Also in the last month an official investigation has been launched alleging spiritual abuse, sexual misconduct, and financial abuse involving non-profit tax embezzlement against Heather Lindsey and Cornelius Lindsey and their leadership team.
We strongly believe in light of Covid-19 safety standards there is no way the Lindsey's can host their conference without putting the lives of thousands of attendees, volunteers, and hotel staff at risk. Many attendees don't feel safe even attending this year at all. July is to soon for a large gathering of this sort.
We are asking that the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, The Atlanta Mayor, and The Governor of the State of Georgia bar the Lindsey's from hosting their conference in Atlanta this year at the expense of lives and due to their public openly racist remarks they have yet to apologize for that has troubled many.
Alternatively if the event can't be cancelled we ask that you all require that they reduce the maximum number of attendees to less than 50 people (to meet CDC guidelines) due to the fact that people travel from many different countries including China to attend their conferences and this is the only way to insure safety standards can be met in respects to social distancing.
Thank You,
Lisa Tate
