Recently, the company formerly named "Facebook" (the brand, not necessarily the social media platform) and "Oculus" have joined efforts to build a "Metaverse", rebranding to "Meta" and "Meta Quest" respectively.

These changes have made it significantly harder to identify two major companies to many people who already knew them by their former names. The name "Meta" was also already taken by another company, creating a major trademark violation on formerly Facebook's part. The rebranding of the company owned by the "new" Meta, Meta Quest, is entirely unnecessary as stated and expressed by many people. "Oculus" was already a major brand name, and there were many virtual reality headsets branded around it. (The most amusing of these is the name "Oculus Quest" now becoming "Meta Quest Quest".) The amount of confusion the name change of this company would cause is insurmountable.

The purpose of this petition is to attempt to push change to bring the names of these companies back to what they originally were, or, if possible, change the names to something that are not trademark violations on their own. I feel like this change will benefit many people, but most especially the technology and virtual reality industries as a whole.
