Why this petition matters

Started by Rufis Samadzade

We’re concerned to inform you that a big number of the Azerbaijani Facebook users from the Republic of Azerbaijan and around the world can’t share their feedback on Facebook about the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh openly with respect. This is because our accounts are continuously blocked by Facebook for the content which are in line with the company’s Community Standards.
Sadly, the opponents’ content which have been promoting ethnic hate, terrorism and separatism, as well as using abusive languages and photos that are clearly against the Facebook Community standards still appear on the feed and comments sections despite being repeatedly reported.
We do understand that Facebook is a multinational organization however, we’re worried that your ethnic Armenian employees have been misusing the power given them by the company and ill-influencing the overall health of the reporting process. We can share examples if need be.
We do appreciate and understand that Facebook network is being used by billions of people around the world who have had different opinions and views. While we highly appreciate the utmost importance of diversity of thoughts and approaches, we also strongly believe that the freedom of expression shouldn’t be limited.
Can you please, therefore, investigate these cases as a matter of urgency and let us know the results.
We look forward to hearing from you soon.
