We automotive enthusiasts have seen this importation law as a burden for far too long. The vast majority of vehicles manufactured within the last 15 years that were not intended for US highways were still manufactured to standards that meet or exceed those in place in the USA. It is time for the NHTSA and EPA to acknowledge this, and change this law. Our neighboring country, Canada, has had a 15 year importation rule in effect for some time now, so for no reason should this law still stand in the USA. It is outdated, and needs to be changed.
