Rushan Orakzai started this petition to Mark Henry and

The new policy of CFISD school district, which has just come in effect of the 2018-19 school year. It FORCES and requires kids in Junior High and High school to have completely clear backpacks. They claim that it is in effect to help stop school shootings, while there are still many ways that people count bring in weapons and harm the school. For example, you could fit a weapon in your binders or supplies. Also, they allow lunch boxes of the size of 6x9x5, and you can easily fit a weapon in there. They also allow teachers, who could also be a threat, to bring in huge bags and purses, that are definitely NOT clear. In fact, I think, as many other parents and students, that it violates the students privacy! Just because they are kids, that doesn’t mean that they don’t deserve their privacy. Someone could have brought a valuable item, and it will be seen by another student and possibly stolen. They could have a phone, or a wallet, or items they would not other students to see and that could embarrass them, and possibly lead to bullying.
