Not Everyone Loves Marineland. Please remove the word "Everyone" from your slogan since I would not like to be included.

The Issue

Marineland's main advertising comes through a series of commercials with the jingle "Everyone Loves Marineland".

Marineland has also used other slogans over the years in its advertising.

"Come to Marineland" - (1980-1985) "Where the Fun Never Stops" - (1986-1988) "Happiness is Marineland" - (1987-1991) "Everyone Loves Marineland" - (1992–present)

Their are many people who do not love Marineland. It is not fair to us that we see and hear "Everyone Loves Marineland" on a daily basis via print, commercials or radio. We have no control over this message being broadcasted which indirectly is including us. This is our way of voicing our opinion and asking to be excluded from this message.

The definition of the "Everyone" is eve-ry-one.

[ev-ree-wuhn, -wuhn] pronoun every person; everybody.

I personally would not like to be represented or included in this context, since I am a body and a person.

Our own Department of Justice in Canada has a well written report detailing the issues involved when we misuse the words "everyone and anyone" which can be found here:
http://www.justice.gc.ca/eng/rp-pr/csj-sjc/legis-redact/legistics/p1p6.html

We also feel that this misrepresentation is borderline false advertising as their are many people who do not feel this way about Marineland.

We are asking that you change this slogan on all future references to Marineland of Canada as we do not want to be included in your "Everyone"
