Marina High School’s Class of 2022: Would you like to have your grad night at Disneyland? 

The parent-run booster club was offered the opportunity to book Disneyland and California Adventure for this year’s Grad Night. However, the parents have decided on the students’ behalf for it to be held at AV Irvine, which is the same venue where prom will already be held. Other high schools in the area, such as Huntington Beach High School, Ocean View High School, and Edison High School are holding their grad nights at Disneyland. Having grad night at Disneyland would allow seniors a park hopper ticket and an exclusive reservation during the hours of 9pm-2am, where only the seniors would be in the park. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be at Disneyland with only peers in the same age group from our neighboring schools. At the very least, the students should have an opportunity to voice their opinions and choose the location of THEIR grad night.

Although ticket sales for Grad Night at AV Irvine begin this Tuesday 3/15, we encourage the Senior Class to hold off from buying tickets until Disneyland is given proper consideration as the Grad Night venue. We understand that this is usually a matter that parents decide, but this class of seniors has missed out on about 2 years of their high school experience, and they deserve to have a say in where their own grad night is held. Marina High School’s class of 2022 will never have this opportunity again, so they deserve to enjoy their grad night at the happiest place on earth, Disneyland.
