One problem that most people don't see today as a big issue are the orca whales held in captivity. While it may be fun to go on a family trip to SeaWorld, and watch the beautiful orca whales, I bet you have not stopped to think about the treatment that goes behind those glass walls. 

SeaWorld is known for its inhumane treatment of their animals, especially orcas. They have even had formal employees come out to the public and share that there was poor treatment. No animal should have to be trapped inside a concrete tank that is about twice as big as it is. 

The effects on the orcas is damaging. Considering in 30 years over 35 reported cases of captivated orcas died in SeaWorld alone. Only one has lived to the age of 30, whereas if they were in the wild, they could live up to 80. The leading cause of their death is the infections they get. These are infections that can only occur in captivity. 

My goal is to get people to realize that we need to stop using these animals as a form of entertainment. They are cognitive animals, meaning they can think for themselves. I want this petition to reach as many people as possible, so I can send it to the Senator of Florida, Marco Rubio. I hope we can make this change together!
