Please stop the deportation of Danyel Ferraz (A#088-900-670)!

The Issue

Please stop the deportation of Danyel Ferraz (A#088-900-670). He was arrested while visiting a friend who was in possession of marijuana. Mr. Ferraz has been living in the United Sates with his family of origin since 1994. He is a hard working, loving father of three children. His children need their father. I ask that you consider the injustice that would be committed by separating children from their parents, as well as the unnecessary psychological trauma inflicted.

Danyel Ferraz is a 36-year-old father of 3 children, ages 11, 12, and 13. He moved to the United States with his family when he was 17-years-old, and was in the process of securing his legal status when he was arrested while visiting a friend who was in possession of Marijuana. He has since remained in detention awaiting deportation proceedings for charges that would've likely been reduced, if not dropped, had he been an American citizen. During this time, he has had limited contact with his children (all American born and living in the US) because they became increasingly depressed at being separated from their father and having to visit him under these conditions.

I wish you could meet him! He is warm, funny, good natured, optimistic and caring. A loving father, he is hard working and ambitious. He prides himself in providing for his family; he shares pictures of his children and nephew. Danyel provides support and encouragement to others in detention. He enjoys reading, writes poetry, and collects watches.

Some of you may know Danyel, or someone like him: he’s the sweet, funny guy who encourages everyone around him. During my time visiting him over the last few months, it was apparent that he was boosting the morale of the other detainees who felt hopeless.

Can you sign our petition and tell ICE to stop deporting innocent people and urge them to close Danyel’s case and let him in the U.S. with his family?
