Parents and families are asking for the Manteca Unified School District to re-establish school buses/transportation services in the budget/plan this academic year and academic years to come as the district is moving 100% in person learning. School buses were  canceled due to the pandemic, however as the district has moved to hybrid learning in November and 100% in person in April families are struggling tremendously to get  their children to school while they also work as essential workers.  

Please support families and students, school buses/transportation is providing an equitable access to an education.   The following are some of the effects of cutting school buses/transportation and reasons to support to re-establish school buses/transportation :

• Parents/families have had to cut income by half.
• Cutting work hours as school hours are later and different for elementary and high school.  
• Some parents have no one to take students and need to work to financially sustain their family.
•  Will continue to have an impact on single household families who have had to figure out how to send their children to school and not loose their work. 
• This disproportionally impacting working families and families who are essential workers and/or who work in the fields.
