Cockerel ban on allotments in Mansfield, Nottingham

Cockerel ban on allotments in Mansfield, Nottingham
The Issue
Allotment holders in Mansfield and Mansfield Woodhouse were told at the beginning of April 2021 that cockerels are being ordered to be removed from all sites managed by Mansfield District Council or plot holders face eviction for not complying.
We have been allowed several weeks to make alternative arrangements before the council check for compliance and dozens of cockerels face an uncertain future. The council have offered no help at all in how owners are supposed to rehome the cockerels.
The council have gone back on the aggreement they made in January 2021 in which they stated that existing cockerels on site were permitted until their natural deaths and not to be replaced. This needs to be reinstated as soon as possible. If we lose this fight these birds will almost certainly be killed or abandoned.
My cockerel has caused no complaints and we made sure he stayed in his shed until after 7.30 am. He deserves the life he is used to and it is unlikely I will be able to rehome him with so many other cockerels in rescue centres. He helps me with my mental well being, anxiety and depression. If I cannot find him a new home he will most likely have to be euthanised. Parks Services have chosen to ignore any of these facts.
