Frank Pesce was born in 1946 and raised on 29th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues in Manhattan. He lived there for 18 years, was baptized and attended St Stephen’s School, and was an avid member of the Madison Square Boys and Girls Club where he played basketball.
A life long actor, perhaps the most well known connection of Frank Pesce to 29th Street was the autobiographical feature film he co-wrote and starred in called “29th Street”.Wikipedia for 29th Street film The film earned much critical acclaim and has become a cult favorite, often hailed as a modern day “It’s a Wonderful Life.” Frank truly loved being from 29th Street, and bringing his life story to the big screen was one of his proudest achievements. His epitaph includes one of his famous quotes, “29th Street, they make movies about guys like me.”
Sadly, Frank lost his battle with Alzheimer’s related dementia on February 6, 2022. NBC News Obituary,
