The issue here is brief. Over 30% of paternity testing is returning a negative result. Despite all the media attention on male politicians, and male sports figures, having children as a result of affairs, males are certainly not alone in this. With the advancements in DNA technology testing, every new birth can be tested to establish the true paternity, so that the actual father, and not the presume father, is held accountable for the child.

This is not likely to reduce the number of sexual encounters, outside a stable relationship, but it may increase the use of reproductive technology to prevent conception, when a brighter light is turned on the problem. Children deserve the right to know from whom they came, outside a legitimate adoption, and that their mother is not carrying on a deception of who their paternal father is.
