We propose a legislative change that requires all commercial and residential buildings, as well as vehicles, to maintain fully functioning air conditioning systems year-round. This policy will not only protect the vulnerable populations such as the elderly, children, and those with respiratory issues but will also promote a general public health benefit.

Investing in these systems will prevent heat-related illnesses and deaths and will ultimately save on potential healthcare costs related to extreme heat exposure. Simultaneously, it drives the demand for energy-efficient air conditioning solutions which will benefit the environment in the long term.
