Mandate Wheelchair Accessibility in All Public Buildings in Denmark
The Issue
Despite advancements in equal rights and inclusive policies, there is a pressing issue that remains overlooked in Denmark - wheelchair accessibility in public buildings. Everyone deserves the right to access public spaces without any hindrance. According to the Danish Disability Council, around 11.7% of the Danish population have a physical impairment, with a significant number of them relying on wheelchairs for mobility. The lack of wheelchair-friendly infrastructure prevents them from fully participating in society and leads to an exclusion that contradicts the Danish understandings of human rights and inclusivity. Hence, we request the Government of Denmark to implement a mandatory rule for all public buildings to be wheelchair accessible, thereby promoting equal accessibility for all its citizens. Please support this rightful cause and sign our petition to make Denmark more inclusive.
