Mandate USPS Mail Delivery Drivers to Photograph Package Deliveries for Proof

Mandate USPS Mail Delivery Drivers to Photograph Package Deliveries for Proof
The Issue
As an individual who has lost numerous packages over time, I write this petition with frustration and concern. Eight out of ten times whenever I order or send something through the US Postal Service, my package mysteriously gets 'lost' or misdelivered. Regardless of the package's monetary value, every single item we send or receive carries its own importance and value.
Despite the advancements in technology, the US Post Office still relies on traditional practices when it comes to package verification. This needs to change. We need a more reliable, fool-proof method so that misdeliveries and loss of packages are minimized, if not totally eradicated. Other delivery services have been taking pictures of the packages they deliver as proof of delivery. Why not the USPS?
Given the USPS's massive scale - delivering an average of 472.1 million pieces of mail per day in 2019 (Source: USPS) - this may not be an easy task, but it is completely necessary. The benefits not only extend to the customers in terms of improved satisfactory services but also to USPS itself in terms of eliminating redundant expenses incurred due to lost or misplaced packages.
In the digital age where everything is trackable, it is time that USPS advances its delivery confirmation methods. Let's band together and call for this necessary change. Kindly sign this petition to ask USPS to begin implementing photographs as a requirement for proof of package delivery. Let's ensure no package, irrespective of its value, gets lost in the shuffle. Your signature can make a big difference.
