Mandate Transparency and Financial Disclosure for Leadership Palm Beach County

Mandate Transparency and Financial Disclosure for Leadership Palm Beach County
The Issue
In my personal involvement with Leadership Palm Beach County, I raised concerns in good faith, hoping for clarity, openness and transparency. However, instead of engaging in healthy dialogue, I was removed from participating in Leadership Grow. This reaction confirms an urgent need for change and accountability.
Leadership Palm Beach County must have its duties clearly spelled out to its constituents. It is vital that they conduct meetings openly, make meeting minutes available to the public, and share their financials. Transparency is not a choice plus, it is a responsibility and a cornerstone for maintaining public trust.
Only 25% of nonprofits have strong financial health, and the rest are vulnerable, displaying varying indicators of financial instability according to a study by The Nonprofit Finance Fund. An organization's financial stability directly influences the community they serve. Transparency and fiscal responsibility is simply due diligence owed by Leadership Palm Beach County to its members and the community at large.
In the light of this, we call on Leadership Palm Beach County to embrace transparent governance and financial responsibility. We urge them to publish their minutes (both Board and Executive Committee) and financial records, which will hold them accountable and build trust with the community they serve. Sign our initiative to bring this much-needed change.
