In recent times, we have witnessed an alarming increase in incidents involving a pack of stray dogs at St Louis Lane, four bungalows, Andheri West. These dogs, numbering approximately 14-15, have been causing significant disturbances and posing threats to public safety. They have been kept by local laborers as guards against robbery of metal sheets and other construction equipment. While their motive is valid, it's become clear that the situation is getting out of control as senior citizens walking alone during the early morning hours and delivery boys on bikes have reported attacks. Similarly, resident cats and newcomers in the lane have also been targeted by these stray dogs. The presence of an intimidating and unruly pack of stray dogs is detrimental to the safety and welfare of the local people, their pets, delivery personnel, and new visitors. We appeal to authorities responsible for the control of stray dog populations and the safety of the public that they ensure these dogs are relocated to a suitable environment where their needs can be met without endangering others.
