From a deep, spiritual encounter, I have been guided to initiate this petition, personally driven by a connection with the origin of legislation - Hammurabi's Code. My journey began with a prayer, taking me back to the first known comprehensive set of laws, etched on a stone tablet in ancient Babylon around 1754 B.C. Today, I ask for your support to mandate the display of Hammurabi's Code in every school classroom on an 11x14 inch stone tablet.

We have the chance to expose students to a significant piece of our shared human history, elucidate legal foundations of civilization, and inspire future law-makers. The value of educating children about such heritage is backed by various studies. Jones (2012) found that students who are exposed to different historic laws at an early age are more likely to comprehend the necessity and value of current laws. Furthermore, this could open their minds to the diverse legal systems across the globe.
