I am personally invested in this issue as I believe that the joy of summer should not be overshadowed by the looming stress of the upcoming school term. The pressure experienced by students and teachers during the academic year is undeniable. With the precious summer break, it is crucial for us to use this time to rejuvenate and prepare ourselves for the upcoming term, rather than being constantly reminded of it during our daily errands.

Studies indicate that a break from school's demands helps reduce stress among students and teachers alike (American Psychological Association, 2018). So when school supplies appear in stores during early summer, it's a premature and persistent reminder of the school-related stress that's just around the corner.

I propose that stores should be required to wait until July 20th before displaying school supplies. This simple change will allow students, teachers, and parents alike to ease back into the academic year gradually and to fully enjoy the summer season.
