Mandate Safety Certification for All Youth Football Coaches

Mandate Safety Certification for All Youth Football Coaches
The Issue
I've personally witnessed and heard heart-wrenching stories of children being injured, sometimes severely, due to the lack of knowledge and training in their football coaches. It's a devastating reality that many young athletes face. The safety of our children should be paramount in youth sports programs. Yet, it seems that we are failing them by allowing unqualified individuals to take on the role of a coach.
Ensuring the safety of young athletes in football starts with concussion awareness and proper coaching techniques. Coaches must receive education on recognizing and responding to head injuries, as well as teaching techniques that prioritize safe play and minimize risk of injury. Parents and athletes should also be educated on the signs and symptoms of concussions, along with the potential long-term consequences. With a focus on safety first, the youth football experience can be rewarding and enjoyable for all involved while still minimizing risks of injury
It is essential that all youth football coaches undergo safety certification which includes proper coaching methods, CPR training and concussion protocols. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), each year U.S emergency departments treat an estimated 173,285 sports- and recreation-related traumatic brain injuries, including concussions among people aged ≤19 years old. This statistic is alarming and calls for immediate action.
We need to ensure our children are protected from harm while participating in sports activities they love. By requiring all youth football coaches to be safety certified, we can significantly reduce the risk of injury or worse due to incompetence or lack of knowledge.
Let's put an end to this dangerous negligence now! Sign this petition today demanding mandatory safety certification for all youth football coaches across the nation! I will take this petition to every elected official, school board, news station so I can to protect the youth.!
