Mandate 'Rights' Training
The Issue
I want to...
Make all the gynecologists and midwives to make all the parents to be, parents and patients to graduate certificate courses on Children's Rights, Human Rights, POSH, POCSO, SHEA from IFRC, UNICEF and NSDC. Make all the schools, colleges, corporates and housing societies to for older generations to catch-up with the policies to curb anti-social elements which begin with domestic violence and abuse.
Why is it personal to me?
To maintain mutual respect and dignity of personal boundaries and others' boundaries. To not mix morality with boundaries. To sit down and talk instead of violent and verbal abuse. Grudges leading to bias. India's main issue is gender based harassment and compelling women to marry and submit to men of her life. Exclusion from property and assets and empowering only the son to succeed so called family legacy and good will on silver platter, leaving daughters to struggle to earn sovereignty.
I plead...
In India, I have witnessed firsthand how gender-based harassment and societal traditions undermine the dignity and personal boundaries of women. From a young age, women are often forced into roles that demand submission to the men in their lives, while being excluded from inheriting property and assets. This systemic imbalance leaves daughters struggling to secure their independence and sovereignty, perpetuating a cycle of inequality and harassment.
I believe a crucial step towards combating these entrenched issues begins with education and awareness. Therefore, I propose that all gynecologists, midwives, and other related professionals require parents-to-be and patients to complete certified courses on Children’s Rights, Human Rights, Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH), Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO), and Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (SHEA) offered by credible institutions like IFRC, UNICEF, and NSDC.
Moreover, it should not stop there. Education on these critical topics must extend to schools, colleges, corporate workplaces, and housing societies to ensure older generations are aware of current policies and practices aimed at curbing anti-social and violent behaviors, including domestic violence and abuse. This approach will help foster a society where dialogue takes the place of grudges and violence, respect replaces bias, and mutual understanding becomes the norm, rather than a rarity.
By equipping every segment of society with the knowledge and insight to respect personal boundaries and dignity, we pave the way for a new era of gender equality and justice in India. This holistic education can lay the foundation for dialogue over discrimination, peace over violence, and inclusion over exclusion.
I urge you to support this petition and demand that these essential courses become part of our national standard, influencing real change that guarantees the rights and safety of every individual, especially women. Your signature is a step towards a future where everyone is respected equally under the law. Please sign and share this petition.
Proposal to prevent anti-social elements as severe as domestic abuse, exclusion of gender, rape and murder:
Government to generate a global identity card for the Children's Rights + Human Rights graduates, made as important as the SSN or PAN.
