I am a parent who has experienced the pain of being separated from my children due to outdated court procedures and lack of understanding about parental alienation. My boys have been burdened with fear, confusion, and a distorted perception of our relationship. Even after their father's passing, his negative influence continues to affect our lives.

In Martinez, CA, like many other places across the country, there are countless parents suffering similar experiences. The system is failing us and our children by not adequately addressing these issues in child custody cases. It's time for change.

We demand that all court personnel involved in child custody cases - Judges, Mediators, Lawyers - be required to undergo regular training on parental alienation and child custody matters. This training should include updates on new research findings and best practices for ensuring the welfare of the child is prioritized above all else.

Furthermore, we call for a revision of terms that currently allow parents to be separated from their children under any circumstances. Instead of promoting separation as an option during disputes or conflicts between parents, we propose implementing supportive plans aimed at fostering cooperation between full-time parents even in challenging situations.

We also suggest introducing home-based assistance programs designed to ensure successful reunification between estranged parents and their children where appropriate.

This isn't just about me or my boys; it's about every parent-child relationship that has been strained or broken due to outdated laws and inadequate understanding among court personnel dealing with these sensitive issues. It’s time we break this generational curse affecting so many families today.
