Finals week is extremely stressful for students, and especially stressful for students with borderline grades (ex. 69%, 79%, 89%). Students feel immense pressure to perform well to get themselves to the next letter grade. This stress can be detrimental to our mental health. If you ask any teacher or counselor, they will tell you that you'll have to pick and choose which grades you want to raise, because you can't raise all of them. 

Automatic grade rounding could alleviate some of this pressure. That means a grade like 69.5% (a D) would be automatically rounded to 70% (a C). It's a simple change that could benefit students' well-being and academic success. By implementing automatic grade rounding at the end of each term, we could reduce this stress, help students reach the letter grades they want, and boost students' grade point averages. 

This petition calls on District 204 officials to implement a district-wide rule requiring teachers to automatically round all grades at the end of each term.
