Mandate Distinctly Differentiable Bottles for Shampoos and After Shower Creams

El problema

Our daily lives are filled with countless trivial nuisances; among these, one stands out for many, particularly for those of us who regularly travel - the lack of distinguishable packaging between shampoos, body milk and after shower cream bottles. I am one of many who find themselves in an unfamiliar hotel, reaching for a bottle in the shower, only to realise too late that I've applied the wrong product.

But, of course, the situation is even worse for blind people!

This personal frustration is not unique. Indeed, it transcends borders and grasps at those who least expect it. However, it doesn't have to be this way. Our peers in Japan have already taken steps to rectify this issue by instating packaging that is distinguishable by touch, through varying bottle shapes and textures. This simple yet effective solution allows users to identify the product without the need for sight, a godsend for those of us who are visually impaired or simply without our glasses in the shower.

As such, this is not an issue without resolution but rather an issue ignored by companies in the pursuit of uniform branding. While branding is significant for corporations, it should not come at the expense of consumer convenience and frustration.

Thus, we urge companies to reconsider their packaging designs and manufacturers to mandate distinctly differentiable bottles for their shampoo and after shower cream products. For a world where no person mistakenly coats themselves in conditioner when in dire need of a good rinse. It's time for change. Please sign the petition.
