Mandate Death Penalty for All Acts of Sexual Predation

Mandate Death Penalty for All Acts of Sexual Predation
The Issue
Countless individuals, including a member of my own family and several friends, have been devastated by sexual assault, rape, and unwelcome advances. This is not an isolated experience - every 73 seconds, an American is sexually assaulted (RAINN), highlighting the gravity and pervasiveness of this issue in our society.
The justice system appears to offer little solace. Only five out of every 1,000 perpetrators will ever be incarcerated (RAINN), discouraging victims from coming forward and seeking help. To rectify this horrific imbalance and protect future victims, we're urging for a change in legal punishment protocols for such heinous acts.
We propose a national Supreme Court-appointed law to mandate the death penalty for all confirmed sexual predators. This proposed law would not discriminate based on the time frame of the crime, applying to both past and current offenders. This includes the entirety of the spectrum of sexual offenses, ranging from harassment to endangering a minor's welfare, rape, sexual abuse, and any and all forms of unwanted sexual advances.
We recognize the severity of the proposed punishment, but we believe it fits the severity of the damage caused by these transgressions. It's time to reconsider how our justice system treats victims and perpetrators of sexual offenses.
We call upon lawmakers, citizens, and all those with a voice to champion this prosecutorial sea change. The dignity, safety, and wellbeing of our loved ones are at stake. Sign the petition. It's time to end the silent suffering and pronounce a deafening "no more" to sexual violence.
