As a young-adult deeply concerned about the future of our planet, I refuse to stand idly by while the world is on the verge of environmental collapse. The evidence is indisputable: climate change and environmental degradation threaten the very existence of our home.

The role of large corporations in this crisis cannot be overstated. Shockingly, just 100 companies have contributed to 71% of global greenhouse gas emissions since 1988, as revealed by CDP's Carbon Majors Report (2017). This statistic emphasizes the urgent need for our governments and policymakers to take immediate action.

Furthermore, The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has warned that if global warming exceeds 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, it could lead to severe and irreversible impacts on ecosystems, biodiversity, and human societies. Currently, we are on track to exceed this threshold within the next few decades if emissions continue unabated.

I call upon all large corporations worldwide to prioritize sustainability by swiftly transitioning to carbon-neutral operations. This isn't merely about profits or public relations; it's about safeguarding our planet for current and future generations.
