These individuals frequently forego necessary healthcare, leading to devastating and often costly health outcomes (Commonwealth Fund, 2020). Meanwhile, top executives in major for-profit health insurance companies pocket annual salaries amounting to millions, obscuring the true cost of healthcare and widening the gap between those who can afford care and those who cannot.

It's time we champion a healthier society, not wealthier corporations. Let's urge our lawmakers to pass legislation requiring all health insurance companies to operate on a non-profit basis. This is not only a step towards more efficient healthcare expenditure; it is a step towards justice for every American denied good health due to financial constraints.
