Hartlepool Marina Parking Fee Petition

Hartlepool Marina Parking Fee Petition
The Issue
Helping to create jobs and back business in Hartlepool - Petition organised by Richard Royal, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Hartlepool.
We, the undersigned call on Mandale to introduce a 'first two hours free parking' period in its parking area at Hartlepool Marina.
The area we are petitioning for is private land owned by Mandale but the signatures can be used by the council as legitimacy to challenge the owners. It is associated with another petition (viewable here - https://www.change.org/p/hartlepool-borough-council-hartlepool-town-centre-parking-fee-petition ) which has triggered a review of the Council's parking policies.
Richard Royal's proposal mirror those currently used in Middlesbrough, whose Mayoral Office he consulted prior to putting together the petition, where visits in the town centre increased by 128% after implementing the free two hour scheme. The proposals would enable people to visit the marina for many regular activities without charge. Many local businesses feel that current fees deter people from visiting the marina and often encourage them to shop out-of-town, affecting the viability of their business and putting jobs at risk.
